Mung Bean Curry

So happy its raining today. No, it’s true – I love it when the weather give you permission to hibernate. I’ve even lit a candle as I’m having my lunch of which you will hear more soon. So often we are after the really heady stuff – great weather, the best holidays, amazing nights out, best restaurants or fastest times on our weekly runs. We’re always striving for perfection and our personal best. But I think the mediocre is underrated. Children’s Breakfast Granola

Here is a surefire winner in the breakfast department at our house. Home made granola. Yes, some batches are better received by the children than others but complaints are generally due to nuts/seeds not being ground up enough. Overall, it is a staple that we are all happy to eat daily. Add to it some creamy organic greek yoghurt and am happy knowing my kids have started their day with nutritious seeds, nuts, fats and gluten-free grains. It is also a fun thing to be making together on a rainy day. My daughter loves finding pretty jars for our granola that we can put ribbons onto and display (proudly) in the kitchen. Is lunch time your Achilles heel? We all have times in the day when we are tempted by junk and for me it is definitely at lunch. Whether you work in an office environment or write books at home – lunch time creeps up on us until we are so ravenous that we’ll grab the first thing that promises instant gratification. Often a big, fat sandwich!
