I can tell you straight away what attracted me to juicing in general and vegetable juice in particular. The very fact that you can get a whole day’s supply of vital nutrients disbursed into your system within a couple of minutes. To be clear, I am not talking a small glass here but a good 250ml or ideally 500ml, on an empty stomach. But then you’re so done!
If you saw the amount of vegetables, prior to juicing, on my kitchen counter you’d be hard pressed to imagine eating all of it. It’s a lot! And I’m not saying that you don’t need the fibre from vegetables and fruit because you absolutley do – but juicing is like a vitamin injection which bypasses the entire digestion malarkey. It is a different proposition and it benefits us quicker, minutes in fact, than eating bit by bit. You will still consume fibre by eating regular food throughout your day which optimises the gut and digestive health.
I liken juice to an exclusive skin serum that you buy to improve the texture of your skin. You still need to cleanse and moisturise of course but the sacred serum acts like a magic bullet, the super ingredient, turning your skin from average to glowing with regular use. Juice is just like that – only much much cheaper. And apart from better skin it also heals us from the inside out. What’s not to like?
So to summarise, juicing is a quick and effective trick to ensure we fuel up on an anti-aging, anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory liquid from nature. Here is a wonderful and hydrating juice to ease you into your daily practice. Plant power, baby!
